A Travellerspoint blog

sunny 31 °C

We stayed one night here at the Kimberley Entrance Caravan Park. The guy at reception let us borrow some crab nets for free, which was nice of him. We set ourselves up on the Jetty and the boys were mud crabing they had a ball. Watching the tide come in was pretty cool it has 11 metre tides the biggest in Australia.

Later on around sunset we went back down to the Jetty to the restaurant and had dinner with the Gibos, the meals were very nice and good prices its a must do at Derby. Walking on the jetty was so peaceful no one was down there cause the tide was out. With no tripod I tried some night photography just putting my camera on the Jetty rail, I manage to got some really good photos.

Mud Crabbing at Derby Jetty!
By Hazza

We hired some nets from the caravan park went down to the servo and bought some bull mullet heads and drove to the jetty to catch some mud crabs! Of course I caught the biggest mud crab we caught about ten crabs, six were keepers so we took them back to camp and boiled them up!
Catch ya Hazdog1er.
